1 large negative is that a very expensive gas station may offer you a 15% discount on SUPER expensive gas. You might just save more money by not using the app.

Also, I’ll give you an insider tip.

Indian casinos and reservations can also give you a large discount on gas because I think they pay less in taxes on it.

The second negative is the friction.

This means you have to claim an offer before you get the discount. Most offers have a window, it could be 20 minutes to 5 hours before the claim expires.

It’s easy to forget about claiming an offer because life is busy, right?

Third Upside works best when you link your credit card to it, and some people don’t like this.

However, Upside does use a security method called tokenization; they only see the first 6 and last 4 digits of the card.

Plus, they use encryption for security.

If you’re still nervous, linking a credit card is a great move because you can dispute charges, and it’s more secure.

However, you do have 3 months to dispute a charge.

I got overcharged at a hostel, and because those 3 months were up, I lost the money.

They make reusable freezer bags, and I just recently got them and LOVE them.

Another easy way to save cash, which I also recently purchased, was these dryer balls. They sound silly, but all you do is throw them in the dryer, and they save 15-25% of the electrical bill of the dryer.

It adds up.

Also, to get the full effect, you want to use all 6 balls and NOT have a full dryer.

If the weather allows, then hanging up clothes outside using a wire like this is a great idea.

Next, using a power strip that cuts electricity when devices are turned off can really add up. Works great with the energy hogs like TV’s and computers.

Sadly, even when some devices are turned off, they still draw electricity, which adds up.

The 5th way to save easy cash is with reusable coffee filters. I recently purchased one, and not only does it save money, but I don’t have to worry about the paper filters folding in and putting grounds in my drinking coffee.
