How to Monetize and Grow a Quora Space! Expert Weighs In.

Quora has over 300 million monthly users and isn’t a social media platform to ignore.

The most important thing is to diversify your traffic sources. If all your traffic comes from Google and Google makes a change, you are vulnerable.

You can grow a Quora space by providing helpful content as quickly as you can. It’s ok to repurpose articles from your blog on Quora and lead traffic to your blog for monetization. You can also monetize your Quora space and earn money from ads with Quora+ and Space Subscriptions.

Keep reading, and I’ll share how Quora’s revenue-sharing works, how Quora+ works, what is space subscriptions, the proper way to put affiliate links into Quora, and 4 additional tips to grow your space even faster.

What is Quora Space?

A Quora Space is very similar to a blog; it’s a topic-based space.

You can create your own space, follow other people’s spaces, and possibly post on someone else’s space (if they let you).

Probably the best thing to start with after you have a Quora account is to optimize your profile. The profile is a wonderful place to put links to a YouTube channel or blog you have.

On the right of your profile, you can see some cool stats on how you’re doing. Every time you answer a question or post in your space, at the bottom, they will see your profile with your links.

The title of your Quora Space should be relevant and have some level of clickability.

Making Money from Quora!

Have you ever been on Quora and seen a post that says “sponsored?” Sponsored posts mean someone is paying money to show up in the feed.

Quora earns a majority of its money through ads. Every time you post, write, comment, or view something on the platform, you are making Quora money.

This is the same with Facebook, Google, and many other social media platforms.

What is cool about Quora is that they are generous enough to share SOME of their advertising profits with you. You don’t need to pay for the Quora+ membership to earn money with ads.

To earn money with ads on Quara it’s called Quora Space Earning Program.

Earnings are paid out on a monthly basis to a Stripe account. You must make a minimum of $10 dollars to receive a payment.

You might be wondering what percentage of ad revenue you receive. How greedy is Quora, because they want to make money as well?

According to this post HERE, Quora takes 5% of ad revenue and shares the rest with content creators. Also, according to Aamir Kamal, who has over 170,000 subscribers to his space, “it never worked for him.”

According to this post HERE, the income also depends on how active readers are, if you have 10k followers, but they are very active, you could earn $20 a month.

If you have a million followers but are NOT active, you could earn $15 a month.

The second way to earn money from your Quora Space is with Quora+ Revenue Sharing. This means someone can ONLY read your posts or answers if “they pay $5 a month” for the Quora subscription. You get a percentage of the subscription based on how long someone consumes your content.

The third way to earn money with Quora Space is with Quora Space Subscriptions by charging viewers before they view your content.

You set the amount, and it could be $100 a month, for example. This is similar to the platform OnlyFans but you can leverage all the traffic Quora gets on its own.

In a nutshell, Quora doesn’t pay as well as affiliate marketing or just sending someone to your blog!

Also, Quora is strict.

I’ve been banned so many times, I’m scared to post something. On 1 account, I never EVER posted a link, and I still got banned.

After I complained, they did give me my account back.

The lesson is just buy a domain and build your own website.

Not only can you earn WAY more ad revenue, even on day 1, but you don’t have to worry about getting banned.

I show you exactly how to set up a blog, 20 benefits of it, and how AI can be helpful in this post HERE.

Using Quora Spaces for a Blog

One of the BEST ways to use Quora space is to post links that send traffic to your blog. What I like about a blog is “you own it.”

There are a variety of ways to earn money from blogging, such as ads, affiliate marketing, lead generation, and marketing your own products.

Oh, and depending on the ad network you’re with, ad revenue can be MUCH better than Quora or Google AdSense.

How you would drive traffic back to your blog is create helpful posts and then mention if you want more check out my profile.

In your profile, you can put a link to your blog.

I don’t recommend posting any links anywhere on the platform because the risk of getting banned is WAY too high.

Plus, when you get banned, the appeal process is not easy. I’ve gone through it 3 times.

What is really cool is that the same articles you are posting on your blog, you can just post to your Quora Space.

Or you can take parts of it. 300-600-word posts can work, and even longer ones can work too, such as 1,300-2,500 words.

However, I still think shorter might be better.

You could post on someone else’s space; however, it’s important to be VERY strict. You don’t want to waste your time.

  • The space has to be VERY targeted.
  • The space has to be active. People are upvoting, commenting, and sharing.
  • Triple-check the rules before you post.

Another way to use Quora spaces is to click on the questions tab. These are people who have questions related to your niche, and you can answer them.

After you answer the question, you post a link to 1 of your blog posts for more information.

I don’t think it’s a great idea to spend your “entire” day answering questions and posting on Quora. Your time is probably better spent posting on your blog, but it’s an option.

Repurposing your blog content on other social media platforms is a great way to not ONLY depend on Google. Plus, it literally takes a few minutes.

Putting Affiliate Links in Quora Spaces!

If you don’t have a blog, you can still do affiliate marketing on social media, but there is a right way and a wrong way to do this.

Your playing in someone else’s sandbox, so you have to follow their rules!

For starters, with Quora, you have to provide value.

With answers and posts, and you just want to make sure there is some meat in it, this means an answer should have some length to it.

Also, you used to be able to provide 1 affiliate link. I highly DONT recommend this now.

Instead, I recommend putting an affiliate link in your profile and just mentioning it in your post.

Also, a WAY better idea is to have a landing page. The reason a landing page is so good is that you can build a list and own the traffic.

Plus more benefits such as…

  • Can promote multiple offers
  • Can contact someone WAY in the future
  • Promote your other content
  • Do list swaps
  • Easier to get accepted into affiliate programs
  • MUCH higher conversion rate
  • Great for launching products
  • Get valuable feedback
  • Protects you from algorithmic changes
  • More personalized marketing

Quora Space Tips

  • When naming your space, try to put in some long-tail keywords on what someone would type in to find it.
  • Use the Quora space with the “Hub idea.” This means with your normal Quora profile say “please check out my space at ___.” You could also mention your space when answering questions related to your niche. The reason this works is that Quora likes this because you’re promoting Quora. It’s a good idea that if you do answer questions, it’s around 500 words. It’s similar to YouTube, where 1 video leads to another video that leads to a landing page. If you’re curious about how this works, I wrote a post HERE on it.
  • Of course, with other social media platforms, you can promote your Quora space. Twitter is a wonderful place to start. Also, if you repurpose your blog posts on your own website, Medium, or LinkedIn Articles, you can put your Quora space in the post.
  • You can also add Questions to your Quora Space. One benefit of adding a question is that you get to generate more answers from different Quora writers and thus generate more views. Also, it helps with engagement, you get feedback for your space, and people just love to answer questions. It works!

Conclusion

Quora is a wonderful social media platform that I used to be “big time” in. One of my favorite books is called AntiFragile, and basically, you don’t want to put all your eggs in 1 basket.

Still, I can’t stress how important it is to OWN something online. A list you can own the traffic, and a website you can own.

I grew a very large subreddit, and 1 day someone posted that she was a 25-year-old girl who wanted to talk to someone. It got lots of thumbs up, and so did a comment.

So I just left it!

Then my entire subreddit got shut down. All my work was gone.

This is what happens when you play in other people’s sandboxes: they can ban you at anytime. Just be aware of that.

I wrote a post HERE on how to start a website step by step, how AI can help, and the 20 benefits.

I hope this blog post on how to monetize and grow a Quora space was helpful to you. Bye for now!
