Why Playing Games is the Best Way to Earn on Swagbucks

Swagbucks games are an easy way to make a little extra cash doing something fun.

I had a blast playing Yahtzee. I did it while doing other things, plus I got paid.

There are hundreds of games, so you can usually find something you enjoy. Plus, some games allow you to earn while doing other things, like watching TV.

Oh, and you can redeem your earnings at just $3 to $5, so you can get paid quickly.

In this post, I’m going to share the fundamentals instead of the exact list of the “perfect” games because they change on the platform.

How to Check Your Swagbucks Visited Ledger to Ensure Tracking

After 15 minutes of downloading a game, it’s good to check the activity to ensure you can see it.

The activity tab is on the top right. There is your name, and right under it, you can see your activity.

If you didn’t see the game you downloaded, after 15 minutes you should stop playing and try to re-click the link SO you get credit for it.

I tried out Zombie Wave because it looked fun, but after 3 levels, I didn’t like the game, so I uninstalled it.

It’s ok to uninstall a game if you’re not having fun!

Why You Should Download and Open Your Swagbucks Game in One Session

It’s not a bad idea to click the link in Swagbucks, download the game right then, and then open the game quickly.

This helps the tracking SO you get credit for it.

What you don’t want to do is click on the link and wait 24 hours to download it or wait another 24 hours to open the game.

This can cause issues with the tracking, and you want to get paid to play the game.

Technical issues suck.

Does Uninstalling a Swagbucks Game Stop You From Getting Paid?

If you delete the game to save space, the tracking ID is lost.

It’s best to keep the game on your device “until” the SB has fully moved from “pending” to your account. This way, you get paid to play the game.

Why Beginner Swagbucks Gamers Should Target Mid-Tier Milestones

Many games are designed to be easy at first, and then the final levels of a game that pay the most are usually VERY difficult and usually are not worth it (Unless you REALLY enjoy the game)!

Meaning you have to work harder for the cash.

Most of the time, 80% of the money is in the middle tiers.

This is where you get the most fun, most money for your time.

It might be a better idea to quit at some point, instead of hanging in there until the last level!

With Yahtzee, I chose a good midpoint and quit, and I’m glad I did. The game was starting to become not fun.

Best Luck-Based Games on Swagbucks for Easy Earnings

The easiest games to start with, and what I did and recommend, are the easy games.

I started with Yahtzee, and it’s mostly luck with a tiny amount of strategy. I had a blast, made some cash, and loved it.

Just recently, I tried Zombie Wave, which is shooting zombies, and it looked fun. The game gets more difficult after the beginning, and it was very hard.

It’s better to start with the easy games so you can see getting paid.

Once you gain confidence, then branch off.

An easy way to find these luck-based games is in the “Casual” category or “Casino” category.

Also, you can go to the search bar and type in

  • “Monopoly”
  • “Bingo”
  • “Dice”
  • “Coin”

At the time of this blog post, Monopoly Go is still active, and that is a luck-based game.

GameEaseWhy it’s good for beginners
Solitaire SmashEasySimple mechanics; helps you understand how tracking works.
Toon BlastFastHigh “effort-to-dollar” ratio; levels are short.
Bingo BlitzPassiveHigh RNG; you mostly just click when numbers are called.
Scavenger HuntLow EffortTedious but very simple; almost impossible to “lose.”
Monopoly GoSocialFrequent free dice links available online to speed up progress.

A wonderful tip is to pick a game where the answers don’t change.

Some “word games” you can look up words online. Other games, like “Sudoku” you can get answers online to get you through levels with no effort.

There are even some games (Travel Town, Alice’s Adventure) where there is no way to lose a level; you just wait for energy to fill up again.

How to Find Swagbucks Games with 30-Day Completion Limits

When browsing games after you hit the play button, you can view all the details and rules before clicking on “get now.”

Looking at these rules is VERY important.

It tells you exactly what you need to do to get paid.

Oh, and at the bottom is a tab that says “important things to know.”

Make sure to read that! For example, in Golf Rival, you have to complete everything in 60 days. It only says that in the “important things to know” tab.

Can You Really Earn Passive Income Playing Games on Swagbucks?

There is a way to earn semi-passive income with games on Swagbucks.

The easiest way to find these games is with keywords. You want to type in the search..

  • Idle
  • Tycoon
  • AFK (away from keyboard)
  • Auto battle / Turn-based RPG

These types of games are very nice because you can play a little while doing other tasks.

Golf Rival, the game I took a picture of, is nice because it’s turn-based and slow. So you can do it while doing other things.

Oh, and sports games sometimes have a “simulate” or “quick play” feature that is somewhat passive.

GameEffort LevelWhy?
Monopoly GO!Very LowHold the “Go” button for Auto-Roll.
Raid: Shadow LegendsMedium-LowUse “Multi-Battle” to automate 30+ fights at a time.
Bingo BlitzLowUse Auto-Daub to let the game play itself.
Idle Bank TycoonVery LowProgress is made primarily while the app is closed.
Coin MasterLowHold the “Spin” button for Auto-Spins.

Best Swagbucks Passive Income Strategies for New Users in 2026

Another easy way to earn semi-passive income is with receipts. I think it’s even easier than games.

It only takes a few minutes after you go grocery shopping, and I think it’s a lot of fun. It’s nice when you find more cash than you expected, like finding an easter egg!

Plus, they can add up.

Oh, and 1 receipt can be used on 9 apps that I know of.

If you use those links, you get bonus points for yourself.

How to Build a Swagbucks Referral Network for Hands-Off Rewards

Another way to earn passive income, which might be the top way, is referring people.

Swagbucks is nice because you earn 10% for life on the people you refer.

There is no cap; you can refer as many people as you want, and they stack with other apps, which have bonuses as well.

Oh, and they take everyone, which is nice because some affiliate programs are strict.

I wrote a detailed post on 12 secrets to referring people to Swagbucks.

Closing: Best Swagbucks Games for Beginners
