How to choose a niche to earn money from short videos

The first step is to choose a niche. A niche needs 2 things..

• Something your interested in
• Is profitable

The most important thing is it’s interesting. If you hate it, then your audience will too. Ask yourself…

• Where do you enjoy spending your time, when not at a job?
• What do you love doing even without earning money?
• What are you MOST curious about?

Next, the niche has to be profitable. I may be into “ant wresting” but if nobody else is, then it’s going to be hard to earn money.

1 tip on ensuring the niche is profitable is if search the niche in Google and see how many ads show up. If NO ads show up then that is a warning sign maybe there isn’t a lot of money in the niche.

If others can earn money with that niche, there is a good chance you can to.

How to choose affiliate products for short videos

Affiliate marketing is recommending other products and getting paid for it. It’s BY FAR the easiest way to make money online.

Sure there are many other ways such as…

• Ad revenue
• Brand deals
• Merchandizing
• TikTok Creator Fund
• Influencer Collaborations
• Digital Products
• Coaching
• Plus others

With affiliate marketing you can get paid on day 1. You don’t have to worry about shipping, payment processing, It doesn’t matter how many followers you have, there is no setting aside time for coaching.

ALL you have to do is recommend a product. Even better there is a way to keep 100% of the profit when mentioning a product.

Even better you don’t have to create it.

It’s called PLR or Private Label Rights.

How to create a landing page for short videos

A landing page, or technically a “squeeze page” I hate saying “squeeze page it sounds like (I’m bullying someone) is when someone enters their email address.

Usually there is a free gift in exchange for the email address.

Then you can email that person, and there is A TON of power with having that email. Instead of promoting just 1 affiliate program you can promote multiple programs. This means you can earn MUCH MORE money. Plus, you can do more with an email list such as…

• You own the list
• Can promote multiple offers
• Can contact someone WAY into the future
• Promote your other content
• Do list swaps
• Easier to get accepted into affiliate programs
• MUCH higher conversion rate
• Great for launching products
• Get valuable feedback
• Protects you from algorithmic changes
• More personalized marketing

The cool thing is, with ALL platforms that I know of, they allow a link in your profile. With TikTok, you need a business account to put in a link. With a creator account, someone needs 1,000 followers.

Where many people get it wrong with emails is they are boring.

Again, I know some of the BEST marketers and their emails “still” are these boring pitch fests that I don’t want to open.

How to sign up for TikTok and optimize your profile

Next, is to sign up for a TikTok business account. With a business account you can have a link in your profile on day 1.

Then in your profile make sure to include a link to your landing page.

You also want to sell your landing page, maybe talk about the benefits someone would receive from your free gifts.

Just remember…

I know it’s free, but still someone is entering their email address. You still have to provide value to get their email address.

How to come up with content ideas for short videos

The million dollar question is what to post for these short videos? There are many different types of strategies for this, but I’m a HUGE fan of repurposing content.

This way 1 piece of work can get views from multiple places. This strategy goes WAY WAY deeper. I’m planning on writing an eBook on this soon.

Another brilliant ideas to create content is just remake a short video you made “a while” ago. Not many people are going to remember, plus you can always change 1 part of it.

• Use the comments in your videos to create content
• Use other videos in your niche (just make them better)
• Use the comments from other creators posts
• Popular blogs in your niche

How to create a short video

To create a short video I recommend downloading the Tiktok app and creating the video in the app. The reason is because…

• Editing is easier in the app
• There is a conspiracy that videos made in the app do better

Short videos are 10-20 seconds long. Sure, some people make 60 second videos, but shorter is better because the more people who reach the end of the video the better your videos will do.

Also, try to watch 60 second videos on TikTok, they are even hard for me.

Shorter videos DO better!

Another tip is shoot scene to scene.

This means make an opening, then click on the red button, the shoot another scene (possibly another location) then hit the red button and keep doing it.

Make sure you have some type of call to action at the end such as…

• Click the link in my profile for more
• You could ask for followers or subscribers (but it’s weaker).

How to download a short video

After you post the TikTok video go to your TikTok account and get the web address of the video. Usually I do this on the PC but I think you can do it on a phone as well.

Then post the web address on this website HERE.

What this site does is enable you to download the video (for free) without the watermark. Now that you have that video you can post it to MORE places for even MORE traffic.

How to repost a short video to other platforms

When you have the video downloaded to your pc or phone then simply upload it to other sites. A few ideas could be….

• -Tiktok
• -Instagram
• -Youtube Shorts
• -Facebook Reels
• -X
• -Threads
• -Rumble
• -Linkedin
• -Butchute
• -Dailymotion
• -Tumblr

Of course this is just the tip of the iceburg you can do even MORE with a short video if you want such as…

• Make Pinterest pins to the video
• Create 1 long YouTube video out of a few
• Create a blog post out of a few
• Use the videos for Quora, Reddit or Forum posts
• Use it in a Facebook feed
• There is also groups on Facebook and Reddit that are dedicated to helping videos

Plus much more.

Just remember to optimize the profiles in each place you post to have the link to your landing page. This way the “call to action” of click the link in my profile works for each place you post to.

How to track progress with short videos

At times it may be a good idea to be brutally honest about what is working and not working. Just be careful not to go crazy and check the analytics 10x a day.

Maybe check it once a month or once a week at most.

Go to your profile in TikTok then click on “business suite”, then select Analytics. What your looking for is trends such as if lots of people are dropping off early then you need to work on this part. Maybe you need a stronger hook.

Whatever part people are dropping off then change things to see if it improves that part.

Now, that you have gotten some traffic to your landing page and have some people subscribing to your landing page…

What do you do next?

I recommend to double and triple down.

This means you can make MORE videos. The good news is you don’t even have to manually do this. You can take a video that is already viral and tweak it and post it for EVEN more traffic. (It doesn’t even have to be your OWN video).

It’s perfectly fine to do this and it’s called “stiching” in TikTok.

You can mix it in with your other content creation. Or you can sprinkle it in. You have to admit it is nice to create content without having to hit the record button.

And you can continue to use it over and over again for more traffic.
